Pakistani expat creates Punjab tourist attraction map
ISLAMABAD: After developing a tourism map for the entire country, a Pakistani expatriate Assam Altaf has drawn another one of Punjab to guide both local and foreign tourists about the venues which were rich in culture and history, or known for unique cuisines.
The map, highlighting 80 attracting points in the province for the tourists, was designed by Assam Altaf, a Dubai-based graphic designer, in collaboration with the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab, a TDCP official told APP.
The TDCP appreciated Assam’s effort by rewarding him Rs 100,000 in cash during the launching ceremony of 15th Cholistan Desert Rally in Lahore. The 80 tourist destinations mentioned on the map included GPO (General Post Office) Murree, Murree Safari Train, Patriata Chairlift & Cable Car, TDCP Khajut Resort Murree, Neela Sand Kotli Sattian, Sangni Fort Rawalpindi, Railway Station Golra Sharif, Attock Bridge, Attock Fort, Taxila Stupa, Panja Sahib Hassan Abdal, TDCP Resort Kallar Kahar, Namal University Mianwali, Namal Lake, Nawab of Kalabagh House, Kalabagh Dam, Swaik Lake, Amb Sharif Khushab, Khewra Salt Mine, Katas Raj Temple, Chakwal Canyons, Tilla Jogian, Rohtas Fort, Kotli Sattian Town, Sher Shah Suri Mosque, Citrus/Orange Field, Chiniot, Clock Tower Faisalabad, Hiran Minar and others. – APP
