Mushtaq Ghani for resolving issues of Khushal Khan University Karak
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ghani Monday chaired a meeting of Khushal Khan Khattak University (KKKU) Karak regarding construction of its main campus and other issues being faced by it.
On the occasion, the speaker was informed that KKKU needs immediate grant of Rs 860 million but the relevant department has made it conditional on oil and gas royalty.
He was informed that until now no progress was made on the release of required grant despite the fact that the summary to this effect was approved in 2012-13.
The meeting held at Assembly secretariat here which was attended by Chairman DDAC MPA Asiya Khattak, Vice Chancellor Dr Mirza Jan, officials of Planning and Development, Finance and Higher Education department.
The speaker directed concerned departments to resolve all issues of the varsity especially release of grant at the earliest and submit a report to assembly within a week.
Ghani said Karak was an important district of the province and the government was committed to providing all basic facilities especially health and education to the residents of the district.
He said it was right of Karak’s youth to get a modern university having all basic facilities to get quality education, adding that he would take up the issues of KKKU at all platforms. – APP
