More resources diverted to strengthen WSSP: Jhagra
PESHAWAR: Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra on Tuesday said that more resources were being utilized to improve efficiency of the Water and Sanitation Service (WSSP) and make the metropolis clean.
Flanked by Adviser to chief minister on local government Kamran Bangash, the finance minister said in a function that capacity of the WSSP had been enhanced and Rs1 billion more funds were provided to it last year, he added.
Having taken such measures, he said performance of the company had improved and was now efficiently working, providing best and timely water and sanitation services to masses.
Kamran Bangash said 700 more vehicles would be provided to the company during the next six months which would give impetus to its performance.
He said that efforts being made on emergency basis for cleanliness in order to provide healthy environment to citizens.
He said that local government department was fully prepared to conduct local bodies elections again this year and offered the department’s services even for the entire country. – APP
