Electric rickshaws to be launched in three major cities
ISLAMABAD: The ministry of climate change has made all preparations to launch electric rickshaws in three major cities of Lahore, Sialkot and Peshawar.
Adviser to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam, during his meeting with a Korean delegation, was briefed about the Pilot Project of Launching the Electric Rickshaws with innovative swappable batteries in three major cities of Pakistan, a press release said.
It was told that there would be 600 electic rickshaws ready in approximately one month period.
The Adviser said, “This would be a good initiative to create the awareness regarding climate change. This project will help in measuring the feasibility and testing grounds for experts in the future.”
While showing the proposed models of the E-rickshaws the Korean delegation explained that swappable batteries of E-Rickshaws would be recharged in an hour and was the best technology and also environment friendly.
The three-wheeler would be launched with the collaboration of Asian development bank and local manufacturers in Pakistan. – APP
