Prof Manki wins global award for innovation
LAHORE: Pakistani Prof Dr Sh. Saleem Manki on Tuesday won the global award for Best Traffic Safety Innovation from all over the world.
Minister of Education, Kingdome of Saudi Arabia Arabia Dr. Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sheikh presented the award to Manki in a ceremony in Saudi Arabia, according to spokesman of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) here Tuesday.
LCCI Executive Committee Member Fiaz Haider and various others have congratulated Dr. Sh. Saleem Manki for hoisting national flag high at global level and proving that there is no dearth of talent in Pakistan.
The spokesman mentioned that Manki’s innovation was being acknowledged and appreciated throughout the world as it brought revolution in traffic system by reducing risk of road accidents and save precious human lives. “It will not be wrong to say that this system is going to make inroads in various part of the world and credit will definitely go to Dr. Manki,” he added.
Traffic Safety Innovation Award is based on the safe system approach aimed at a more forgiving road system that takes human fallibility and vulnerability into account. Under a Safe System, the whole transport system will protect people from death and serious injuries. – APP
