KP to complete 3 power project of 63 MW this year: CM’s Adviser
PESHAWAR: The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would complete three hydel power projects of 63 MW this year out of a total 800 MW projects initiated in the province, said Adviser to Chief Minister on Energy and Power Himatullah Khan.
Presiding over a meeting here to review pace of work on different power projects, he said that 40.8 MW Koto Hydro Power project, 11.8 MW Karwara hydro power project and 10.3 MW Jabori hydro power project would be completed this year and start production.
He said this year the government would initiate one of the mega hydro power projects of 300 MW in Balakot, adding that in 12 merged districts 294 mini micro hydel stations would also be completed this year.
He further directed the department concerned to expedite work on solarization of 8,000 schools, 187 basic health units, 4300 mosques. He said in order to provide cheap electricity to industrial sector work on wheeling model is in last phase.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Energy Zubair Khan, Additional Secretary Zafarul Islam, Chief Executive PEDO Engineer Naeem Khan and project directors. – APP
