Shahid Khaqan, Ahsan Iqbal’s bail petitions adjourned till Monday
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Thursday adjourned bail petitions of former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and former interior minister Ahsan Iqbal till February 24, in LNG import reference and Narowal Sport City case, respectively.
The hearing of the bail petitions was adjourned without further proceeding due to the leave of Chief Justice Athar Minallah. The hearing of these cases could be conducted on coming Monday.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had pleaded that the other accused in this case including former finance minister Miftah Ismail and Sheikh Imranul Haq already had been given post arrest bails in LNG import agreement case. He said that NAB had failed to establish its charges against him.
However, Ahsan Iqbal pleaded that he had no connection with Narowal Sports City project. NAB had accused him of misusing his powers for issuance of funds from federal government for a provincial project. – APP
