Swarms of locust may attack crops this month: Minister
KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Agriculture, Ismail Raho, said that swarms of locust might attack crops in the Sindh province this month and asked the federal government to provide six planes for aerial spray to save them from damages.
According to a press release here, he said that the locust in large numbers might damage the whole crops and keeping in view the situation, the centre should come forward to help exterminate the locust from Sindh.
He said that there were eggs of locust in seven districts of the province as the summer season had begun in the country and there was a dire need to eradicate locust from the province to save crops.
He suspected that Tharparker, Umerkot, Sanghar, Nawabshah, Khairpur, Sukkur and Ghotki could be affected more due to the locusts. - APP
