PESHAWAR: The Inter-Services Public Relations [ISPR, Pakistan military’s media wing] said that a Frontier Corps (FC) solider was martyred while two other sustained injuries in terrorists attacks in the Loralai area of Balochistan on Saturday.
“One officer was martyred and two others – including a major – were also injured in the terrorist attack on the FC vehicle near Loralai in Balochistan,” the ISPR said in a statement. The ISPR identified the martyred soldier as Lance Naik Sharif while Major Qasim and an officer were injured who were shifted to CMH Quetta.
According to ISPR, in a befitting response, the FC personnel killed three terrorists.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed strongly condemned the terror attack, saying that such cowardly attacks cannot demoralized our security forces. “I strongly condemn the terrorists attack on FC vehicle in Loralai Balochistan,” Ahmed said in his twitter post. The minister also expressed condolence to the family of Shaheed Naik Sharif.
ON 13 August, during an operation, a Soldier was martyred while a ‘terrorist’ was killed during in operation in South Waziristan tribal district. The security forces have launched operation against terrorism after the recent rise in terror attacks which indicate the resurgence of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). A report of the UN Security Council found that the TTP is regaining strength in the wake of the United States withdrawal and the Taliban’s gains in Afghanistan.
Before the Loralai attack, an explosion took place near the Serena Hotel in Quetta on Sunday evening, killing two policemen and injuring 21 others, including six police personnel. A grenade attack on a shop on Sariab Road has also killed two persons, including a policeman. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for both the attacks. The BLA was outlawed by Pakistani government in 2006. On August 9, a grenade attack on a shop on the Bypass Road in Quetta killed one person and injured four others.
