PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party (ANP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Aimal Wali Khan has warned Pashtuns of difficult situation in the future. Khan urged for complete unity and warned that the regional and global powers do not want peace on the Pashtun soil.
Addressing a political gathering in Charsadda, the ANP leader said that the ANP has no personal interests in Afghanistan but it wants a lasting peace for Pashtuns on both sides of the Durand Line. “If there is an interest, it is to establish lasting peace and save the Afghan people from further bloodshed,” Khan said. He added that the ANP will support any move regarding the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan.
The ANP leader hoped that the Afghanistan is being pushed back into “dark days”, however, he urged the Pashtun to not disappoint and continue their struggle for freedom of their land. He said that whatever the circumstances, the ANP workers have not lost their patience and have remained steadfast in their ideology and philosophy.
He said the Awami National Party has raised its voice for the Pakhtun nation in the face of every circumstances. “We are followers of Bacha Khan who have offered sacrifices for the Afghan soil. Whatever the circumstances, Bacha Khan’s followers will not take a single step back from their stand on peace and stability,” Aimal said. He called on the world to play its part in bringing peace to Afghanistan on permanent bases,” he said. He hoped that the Taliban will respect human rights in Afghanistan and not cause any harm to the people and their properties in Afghanistan.
The ANP leadership also strongly criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, saying that people are facing the ‘worst’ inflation due to wrong policies of the rulers. “The current rulers have put Pakistan’s economy at stake for the interests of IMF,” the ANP leader said.
