During a press conference, Taliban spokesman said that after the formation of government, women will have the right to protest “at the right time and to raise voice before someone who is accountable to them”. Taliban spokesman added that they are working on Afghan constitution that will be Islamic and would be acceptable to entire Afghanistan.
Taliban spokesman rejected the rumors of differences within the Taliban, saying that government formation is being delayed because of technical reasons. Mujahid informed that “The Taliban are apprehending and investigating those involved in looting, theft and damage to people’s property in Kabul.” He also announced the restoration of electricity, telephone and internet in Panjshir valley. He claimed that some elements want to push Afghanistan back into the war, but the Islamic Emirate will never allow it.
Mujahid also assured the people of Panjshir that they would not be discriminated against and that, according to him, all Afghans would work for the development of Afghanistan. However, the National Resistance Front (NRF) chief Ahmad Massoud rejected the Taliban claim of capturing Panjshir and called for “national uprising” against the Taliban. Massoud claimed that the resistance forces were still in Panjshir and fighting the Taliban. According to Massoud, some members of his family were also killed in the war with the Taliban on Sunday [5 September]. Former spokesman for the group Fahim Dashti was killed in a clash with the Taliban in Panjshir on Sunday.
