PESHAWAR: The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) secured majority of seats in the cantonment board elections in the province on 12 September.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Election Commission has said that the PTI has won 18 out of 37 seats in the province while The PML-N won 5 seats, Pakistan Peoples Party 3 seats, the Awami National Party won 2 seats and independents security victory on nine seats in KP.

In Punjab, The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz won majority seats, while Jamaat-e-Islami bagged 7 seats. According to unconfirmed and unofficial results, 4 out of 10 seats in Abbottabad were won by PTI, 3 by PML-N, one by PPP and two by independent candidates. The PTI won two of the four seats in Nowshera while two seats were bagged by independent candidates.
The ECP said that all three seats in Risalpur were secured by PTI. In Bannu, one seat was won by the PTI and one independent candidate. The PML-N and PTI secured victories on the two seats in Havelian. The PTI has secured victory on one seat in Mardan, one by ANP while the other one seats went to an Independent candidate. The PTI also bagged one seat in Kohat district.
The Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif said that people have expressed confidence in PML-N in cantonment elections. “We assure the people that we will not disappoint them and will work hard to solve their problems,” he added. In Balochistan, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) won 3 out of 7 seats while the ruling party won in 2 wards, the other 2 seats were bagged by independents candidates.
The KP government spokesperson Kamran Khan Bangash said that that the cantonment board results show that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will also form government in the province in 2023. On the other hand, the banned Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP), which had fielded 84 candidates in the cantonment board elections, could not win a single seat from across the country.
