PESHAWAR: The Afghan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced 1 million Afghani reward for under-19 cricket team for outstanding performance against Bangladesh.
This was the Afghan cricket team’s first foreign tour since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan. The tour of Bangladesh consisted of a series of four four-day Tests and five One Day Internationals (ODIs).

The Afghan cricket team won two ODIs matches and a test match. On their return home, the cricket team was warmly welcomed by the Afghan officials including the board management. To encourage the team, the new chairman of the Afghan Cricket Board, Azizullah Fazli, announced a reward of 1 million Afghanis for the players.
Due to the closure of flights operation at Kabul International Airport, the Afghan Under-19 cricket team has visited Bangladesh via Pakistan. “Afghanistan’s under-19 national team returned home today after defeating Bangladesh cricket team,” Mr Azizullah Fazli, Director General of ACB said. He promised to Award one million Afghanis as a reward to the cricket team.
Mr. Azizullah Fazli said that Afghanistan has sent the team to Bangladesh despite of the ongoing political, economic and financial challenges but despite all this, the team returned home victorious. Mr. Fazli added, “We will construct more cricket grounds and training camps for the Afghan Under-19 team. We will facilitate the players for the upcoming Asian and World Cups tournaments, so that the Afghan team can compete and bring more successes to Afghanistan.”
Syed Rahman Ahmadzai, the assistant coach of the Under-19 national team, and Ijar Ahmad, the captain of the team, thanked the leadership of the Afghanistan Cricket Board for allowing them to travel to Bangladesh despite the prevailing challenges.
