PESHAWAR: Industrialists Association Peshawar (IAP) has put off the planed protest for 10 days after the assurance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan but warned to start agitation if the chief minister failed to fulfill his commitments.
The Chief Minister assured the delegation of IAP, led by its president Malik Imran Ishaq. The Chief Minister also directed the formation of a committee, which will be headed by his assistant on industries, Abdul Karim to prepare recommendations for resolution of industrialists’ issues within 10 days and put up its report to the chief minister.

The administrative secretaries from relevant government departments and representatives from Industrialists Association Peshawar would be the members of the proposed body. On the occasion, the IAP president has taken up issues of industrialists pertaining to property tax, EPA, KPRA, KPEZD&MC, Labour Department (social security, worker welfare) and gave a number of proposals for their amicable resolution.
Imran Ishaq said that the industrialists have an enormous contribution toward economic development by paying different taxes, saying that the industries are the prime source of employment generation, so industrialists issues should be resolved on priority basis. He said the industrialists are ready to cooperate with the government but urged the government to respect the dignity of taxpayers.
Ghazanfar Bilour, Malik Niaz, Riaz Arshad, Muhammad Ishaq, Attaur Rehman, Sajjad Zaheer, Mohsin Wudad also spoke on the occasion and raised issues pertaining to different departments concerned.
