PESHAWAR: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mir Kamal Khan Alyani is facing another no trust motion tabled by disgruntled members of his Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and opposition on Wednesday.
The Balochistan Assembly proceedings are currently underway with Speaker Abdul Qaddos Bizenjo in the chair. The no-confidence motion was moved against CM by Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran and 33 members voted in favour of the resolution.
‘5 MPAs are missing’
The BAP member Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran said that five of their members have gone missing. He expressed the fear that five more will disappear in the next few days, thus the CM will thwart this no-trust movement. Khetran said that the House cannot function in this manner and Jam Kamal will have to resign now.
Khetran said that the frustration, unrest, unemployment has increased in the province due to “poor performance” of the chief minister. He alleged that the chief minister is running the affairs of the province without consulting senior party members. “The CM is running Balochistan according to his own will. We had demanded his resignation before submitted the no-trust motion.” Khetran claimed the opposition as well as government members are making efforts to remove Jam Kamal.
Jam Kamal’s lunch
Prior to the assembly session, Chief Minister Jam Kamal hosted a luncheon in honou of BAP members and its allied provincial ministers, senators, assembly members and parliamentarians. On this occasion, Jam Kamal said that he is confident that the non-trust motion would fail.
The Balochistan Chief Minister claimed that his relations with the opposition are strong and the motion is tabled by few members. He said that they do not have the support of entire opposition and the thus the motion in bound to fail. He said, “Our allied parties will stand by use. It isn’t possible for government members to join the opposition and bring a no-confidence motion.”
