PESHAWAR: After losing his entire family in a missile attack, Muhammad Wali, has arrived in Peshawar with his minor son.
He declined asylum in US and preferred Peshawar for his son as he believes that Pakistan is Afghanistan’s brotherly Islamic country. “I have lost my whole family in the missile attack,” Wali told Mashriq TV, “We remained safe as we were outside when the missile hit the house.”
The attack occurred ten days before the Taliban takeover on 15 August.
“Americans were ready to grant us asylum but I declined as I did not want my son to lose his religion,” Wali said. He added that he left Afghanistan as he was losing his senses there and was missing his slain family. He said that his brothers and entire clan are still living in Afghanistan.
Wali is now working on daily wage in Peshawar and lives in a shelter home near Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) at Rs150 per night. He said that whatever he earns is enough to fulfill their daily needs.
