PESHAWAR: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday confirmed that Pakistan will host the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Rameez Raja said on Twitter that it is a matter of pride for Pakistan. A total of 15 matches will be played between eight teams in the tournament at three different venues. Last Time, Pakistan co-hosted the ICC 1996 World Cup with India and Sri Lanka.

The ICC also decided that ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 will be held in USA and West Indies, the 2025 Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan while T20 World Cup 2026 is scheduled in India and Sri Lanka. India will also host Champions Trophy in 2029.
In 2025, Pakistan will also be the defending champion as in 2017; India was defeated by 180 runs to win the champion trophy for the first time. In the decisive battle, Fakhr Zaman was declared Man of the Match while Hassan Ali as man of the Tournament. Openers Azhar Ali and Fakhr Zaman provided a solid start of 127 runs. Zaman completed his first century in ODI cricket after playing a brilliant innings of 114 runs. Babar Azam had scored 48 runs while Mohammad Hafeez scored 57 runs.
Pakistan managed to score 338 runs for the loss of four wickets in 50 overs. India was given a target of 339 runs. When India started chasing the target, Rohit Sharma returned to the pavilion without scoring a run in the first over. Muhammad Amir also forced Captain Virat Kohli to return to the pavilion in his next over while amir took the third wicket by dismissing Shikhar Dhawan
Sniper Shadab Khan took the important wicket of Yuvraj Singh and Dhoni was caught, Shadab ended Kedar Jadhav innings, Hardak Pandya batted aggressively but was run out, Jadeja was caught by Junaid Khan in the slip. Pakistan won the ICC champion trophy for the first time after Hasan Ali dismissed Jasprit Bumrah.
