PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday has sought more time to submit its inquiry report on Billion Tree Tsunami Project (BTTP) and Bank of Khyber (BoK) corruption scandals.
A two-judge bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) comprising Justice RoOhul Amin Chamkani and Justice Ijaz Anwar heard the case. When the hearing begun, the bench inquired who was preventing the NAB from investigating both the case.

Ali Gohar Durrani, counsel for the petitioner, told the court that at the last hearing, the court had issued some orders but the inquiry report has not been submitted yet on which NAB Prosecutor Riaz Ahmed told the court that since new NAB ordinance has been enforced, therefore, they would need more time to look into the matter.
Justice Rohul Amin remarked that the national accountability body has come up with methods to arrest and start investigation against anyone they want. The justice inquired who is stopping NAB from probing the BTTP, Khyber bank and Peshawar BRT projects. “There will be doubts until NAB conduct fair and impartial investigations,” Justice Rohul Amin remarked. “You want us to issue an order that the new ordinance has stopped NAB’s investigation process.” The justice added that the NAB has no concerns of court orders and the plea submitted by the petitioner.
Advocate Durrani informed that the accountability body has stop probing the Malam Jabba corruption scam. On which Justice Rohul Amin remarked that we had said that Malam Jabba should be resolved by the government as it was matter among different government departments. “We had called for an inquiry BTTP and Bank of Khyber scam. On which the NAB lawyer told the court that the investigating officer is not here today therefore, they will submit the report at the next hearing. The court sought a report from the national accountability body on the next hearing and adjourned the hearing till January 12.
