New Zealand cricket team to visit Pakistan next year

The first tour will include two Tests and three ODIs.

PESHAWAR: According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, the New Zealand team will visit Pakistan from December, next year, to play two Tests and three ODIs. The visiting team will then return to Pakistan in April 2023 to play a series of 10 white-ball matches.

The tours schedule has been finalized after discussions between Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja and New Zealand cricket chairman Martin Snedden. The New Zealand cricket team’s first Pakistan’s tour will include two Tests and three ODIs [One day Internationals]. ODIs and the tests matches will be the part of the ICC World Test Championship and the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League, respectively.  In the second tour, both the teams will play five ODIs and five T20 International matches in April, 2023.

Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Ramiz Raja said that he is grateful to the New Zealand cricket board for finalizing the visits. Raja said that it shows that both the teams have strong ties and confirmed that Pakistan is an important member of world cricket community. New Zealand Cricket chief executive David White said that Ramiz Raja and Martin Snedden had fruitful and constructive talks in Dubai which has further strengthened the relationship between the two boards.

Pakistan will also host eight Tests, 11 ODIs and 13 T20I matches against Australia, England and New Zealand between March 2022 and April 2023.
