PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that only vegetables or other small items are being exported from the country which cannot put the country on the track of development.
Addressing the inaugural function of the Pak-China Business Investment Forum in Islamabad, he said that only boosting export can steer Pakistan out of the current crisis. The Prime Minister said that there is a need to develop the industrial and IT sectors that would not only increase exports but also generate job opportunities.

The prime minister said that relations between Islamabad and Beijing spans over 70 years and Chinese are ready to cooperate with Pakistan in any way. “But we have never formulated a policy based on national priorities,” the prime minister said.
Emphasizing on technological reforms in the agricultural sector, PM Khan said that China has made remarkable progress in the field of agriculture while Pakistan is relying on centuries old tools. He said that on the other hand, the housing societies are devouring our fertile land that is not only causing food insecurity but greenery is also vanishing. The Prime Minister urged to learn from China which has adopted more innovative ways of urbanization and is now doing “vertical development”
Addressing the Chinese investors present at the event, he said that we need your feedback on the difficulties. According to Imran Khan, the regulations are causing delays. He used the English phrase ‘time is money’, saying that we have lots of time in development the industrial sector of the country. He assured that the country will provide maximum facility to the investors.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the biggest problem of poor countries, like ours, is money laundering. He said elite class steals the country’s money and sends it abroad. “Billions of dollars is stolen every year that goes directly to rich countries,” the Prime Minister lamented.
