Talking to media outside the Parliament House, the PPP Chairman rejected that presidential form of government, saying that there is no provision for presidential system in the 1973 constitution. Bilawal Bhutto said that they are democratic people and will use democratic methods against the government. “I will topple the government without no-distrust motion,” the opposition leader said.
Bilawal Bhutto added that the numbers are not enough for the no-confidence motion against the Senate chairman and in any case the no-confidence motion in the senate will not fulfill the purpose of overthrowing the prime minister. He said that immediate removal of the government is necessary in the public interest as the country is suffering of record inflation and economic crisis.
The PTI will hold the anti-government long march from February 27 from Karachi, which the PPP leadership believes, will be helpful in toppling the government. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari further said that an “anti-people deal” has been signed with the International Monitory Fund (IMF). Talking about the legislation on the SBP Amendment Bill, he alleged that “it threatens our nuclear program”.
The Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has said that the removal of PTI government is now a matter of days not months.
Talking to media outside the Islamabad High Court, Nawaz said that the performance of the government is “extremely poor” as a result the nation is reeling under “record” inflation, unemployment and unending economic crisis. Maryam said that the Murree tragedy was the result of government “incompetence”. She said that the method of removing the government will also come to light soon.
