PESHAWAR: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Saturday urged top 100 corporations in Pakistan, who made record profits of Rs950 billion in the last year, to raise their employees’ salaries.
The prime minister welcomed decision to increase the salaries of Syrian Air for increasing its staff salaries by 44%. The wrote on Twitter, “I appreciate Serene Air’s AVM Safdar (R) for responding to my call and announcing pay rise of 44% for low paid employees and 15-25% for other employees.”

Yesterday, on the appeal of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s business community, ARY Network CEO Salman Iqbal had announced an increase in the salaries of the employees. Later, Prime Minister Imran Khan thanked ARY Digital CEO for complying with the request and increasing the salaries of the low-paid employees.
Imran Khan had said that the salaried class was being affected more by the high inflation. He added that the business community was earnings profits but the employees are not getting its benefits.
PM Imran Khan has earlier said that International organizations have termed Pakistan’s growth stable. The premier has claimed that according to the World Bank report in Pakistan has been reduced. He said that Pakistan’s exports, taxes and foreign exchange reserves have reached record levels.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly [provincial parliament] Haleem Adil Sheikh has said that he salutes the army chief Salman Iqbal for increasing the salaries of ARY Network employees. Sheikh in his video statement on the salary increase by ARY Network said that we pay tribute to Mr Iqbal and the management for increasing the ARY staff salaries.
