PESHAWAR: The National Command and Control Center (NCOC) lifted sanctions in cities with less than 10 percent of Covid-19 positive case ratio.
The NCOC issued a notification regarding coronavirus sanctions on Tuesday.
The NCOC said that indoor events will be allowed with 300 guests while 500 people will be allowed to attend outdoor events. Educational institutions for under 12 year old children would remain open with SOPs. In areas with low Coronavirus rates, fully vaccinated people will be allowed indoor dining. Cinemas and shrines will be open only to fully vaccinated people and indoor sports activities will also be allowed.

The NCOC also released a list of cities with more than 10% positive case ration where it has been decided to maintain sanctions. These cities include Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, Mardan, Karachi, Hyderabad and Peshawar. In cities with a 10% positive rate, children under 12 will attend classes on alternate days and indoor events will be completely banned.
According to the NCOC, the ban on food and snacks on domestic flights will remain in place while the railways will operate with 80% and other public transport will ply on road with 70% capacity. The NCOC has informed that the next review meeting for areas with a positive case rate of more than 10% will be held on February 21.
On Monday, the NCOC reported 27 deaths in Pakistan, bringing the total death toll to 29,828. A total of 2,597 more coronavirus cases were reported across Pakistan in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases to 1.488 million. A total of 48,037 coronavirus tests were conducted and a positivity ratio of 5.40% was reported.
The total of number of Coronavirus case in Sindh is 560,036, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 211,112, Punjab 496,134, Islamabad 133,277, Balochistan 35,111, Azad Kashmir 42,042 and in Gilgit-Baltistan 11,246.
The highest number of deaths due to coronavirus was reported in Punjab where 13,380 people have lost their lives while in Sindh 7,985 patients have died, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 6,133, in Islamabad 999, in Gilgit-Baltistan 189, in Balochistan 371 and 771 in Azad Kashmir.
