PESHAWAR: After the Russian attack on Ukraine, there is chaos in across the country, including in the capital Kiev, therefore the Pakistani embassy has urged students to leave the country as soon as possible.
According to a report of BBC, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Ukraine Major General (retd) Noel Israel Khokhar held a virtual meeting with 40 Pakistani students in Ukraine. During the meeting, the Ambassador urged the students to return to Pakistan as soon as possible in view of Ukraine-Russia tension.

The Ambassador clarified that the Pakistani Embassy will continue to provide all possible assistance to the students who will not be able to return home due to their responsibilities. The Pakistani embassy wrote a letter to the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science asking to provide online education to Pakistani students until the situation returns to normal.
On the other hand, while talking to BBC, Pakistani students in Ukraine have expressed the fear about their future. Jawad Hafeez, a student studying in Kiev, said that he had come to Ukraine a week ago after spending millions of rupees but now he has been asked to leave the country without completing his education. He said that they will have to make this decision under duress. Chaudhry Musa, a medical student, has expressed the fear that his future will be ruined if he returned to Pakistan.
Explosions are being heard in various parts of Ukraine, including the capital, Kyiv, following Russian President Vladimir Putin’s announcement of military operation in support of separatists in Donbas region. According to BBC Kyiv, Donbas region, Odessa and Mariupol in eastern Ukraine also rocked with explosions after the announcement. Missile attacks have also been carried out on military command centers in Kiev and Kharkiv, while the Russian army has also entered the Mariupol and Odessa regions.
According to a foreign news agency, Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations has informed the Security Council about the Russian attack on eastern Ukraine, claiming that the operation was valid under Article 51 of the UN Charter.
