PESHAWAR: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that staunch political rivals are getting united against the government for a no-confidence motion, therefore, Prime Minister Imran Khan should mend ties with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) disgruntled leader, Jahangir Tareen.
Addressing a new conference, Ahmed said that the government has no objection to the rally but the PPP leadership has to keep it peaceful and avoid violating the law of the land. He said that Rangers will be deployed to maintain law and order during the PPP rally in Sindh.

The Home Minister alleged that Nawaz Sharif has give Asif Ali Zardari the task to purchase political loyalties of PTI members and its allies. However, he maintained that no-trust motion would bear not fruits for the opposition political parties. He claimed that the motion’s failure will further strengthen Prime minister Imran Khan. He claimed that government allies are with PTI and have assured complete support.
He said that state Institutions have clearly said that they are neutral and are with the democratic government.
The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and Pakistan Peoples Party have announced to table no-confidence motion against the government. however, the parties have not yet agreed when to table the motion in the assembly.
The PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the alliance will also convince the government allies before the move to remove the PTI government. The PDM and Awami National Party have also announced to support the PPP ‘long march’ that will begin on 27 February.
Yesterday, the Pakistan Peoples party (PPP) has sought the support of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) for the no confidence motion and anti-government “long march”. Former President Asif Zardari called on JI chief Sirajul Haq at the JI’s headquarters in Mansura, Lahore.
