PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan would go home if state “institutions play neutral role”.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, PPP chairman alleged that not only democracy has been destroyed, but the “selected” government has brought the economy on the verge of collapse. He alleged that people have been robbed of their rights. Bilawal said that inflation, poverty and unemployment have increased to a “record level” and the PM has violated every promise made before the 2018 elections.

“The government and the system are undemocratic. The PPP will take democratic path to get rid of the incompetent ruler,” Bilawal said. “Our long march is a democratic attack on undemocratic government. We want clean and transparent elections so that the people can elect their true representatives.” Chairman PPP claimed that burden of “incompetence” of the PTI government is being borne by common man.
He said that PPP ‘long march’ against inflation and “selected” government would reach Islamabad after passing through 37 cities. He said that Imran Khan had said before the 2018 elections that he would resign, if the people come out on the road against his policies. “If the Prime Minister resigns, then there will be no need for no-trust motion and long march. If all the institutions remain neutral, according to the constitution and law, then the ‘puppet’ Prime Minister will go home.”
He said that provinces are being deprived of NFC [national finance commissioner] award under the current government. Bilawal said, “Our intentions are clear. We have the solution Pakistan’s current problems. PPP will fight for the rights of the people and wants to get rid of this government soon.”
The Awami National Party (ANP) and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) have announced to support the PPP anti-inflation long march towards Islamabad from 27 February.
