PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Wednesday said that the no-confidence motion against the PTI government could be tabled without the support of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).
Talking to media, Abbasi said that “Chaudhry brothers” has to decide now whether they stand with people or the “incompetent” government. The PML-N leader also criticised the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), alleging that it has incurred more damage to the country than any other institution.

PMLN seeks MQM support for no – trust motion
The PML-N and the Pakistan People Party had approached the PML-Q after 14 years for support to overthrow the PTI government. The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and the ruling coalition Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) have also held separate meetings with the PML-Q leadership. A delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) also held meeting with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
Chaudhry Shujaat has also informed the JI chief that he has put three questions to Shahbaz Sharif regarding no-confidence move and was still awaiting his response. However, Hussain said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz do not want Pervez Elahi as Chief Minister Punjab. He said both the parties are worried that the PML-Q will regain its strength in Punjab, if Pervez Elahi assumed the office of Punjab chief minister. He had informed that issues were still under discussion and expressed the hope that Elahi would wear the robe of chief minister.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Imran Khan called on Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi where they assured full support on the issue of no-confidence motion. A statement issued by the Chaudhry brothers said that they had told Shahbaz Sharif about their decision on the no-trust motion. They said that such move has no chance of success.
Welcoming the Prime Minister’s announcement of reduction in petrol and electricity prices, the Chaudhry brothers said that it was the duty of the ministers to ensure that the people get its benefits at the grassroots level. They also demanded a relief package for industrial estates of Punjab.
