PESHAWAR: Opposition political parties have claimed to the support of 36 ruling party lawmakers in Punjab assembly for the no-trust vote against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in the province.
The opposition claimed that after the national assembly, they have completed the number of MPAs for no-trust vote against chief minister Punjab Usman Buzdar. On the other hand, the government has also claimed to have secured the support of two independents, four Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and two Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) members.

The Punjab Assembly comprises of 371 members of which government has the support of 194 members – including its allies and independent candidates. In contrast, the opposition coalition has 172 members and needs a total of 186 members to form government. The opposition has also claimed the support of two independents while the Jahangir Tareen group and angry members of the government would play a key role in the no-confidence motion.
Sources said that PML-N has claimed the support of 29 angry members of the government and PPP has claimed the support of 7 government members and thus number game for No-trust vote in the Punjab Assembly has entered an interesting phase. There are five independent members, PTI 183, PML-Q 10 and Pakistan Rah-e-Haq Party 1, PML-N 165 PPP has 7 members.
Opposition sources said that the opposition political parties have completed its strategy regarding Chief Minister Punjab. After receiving the green signal from the leadership, a no-confidence motion will be filed against Chief Minister in the Assembly Secretariat.
Senior PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah has said that the opposition has completed its number game for no trust motion against CM Punjab and the government is also aware of it. He said said that PML-N, PPP and JUI different responsibilities. He said that the PML-N was leading preparations for the no-trust move in Punjab.
