PESHAWAR: The opposition political parties on Monday submitted no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Punjab Usman Bazdar over his “poor performance”.
The text of the resolution said Chief Minister Usman Bazdar has lost the trust of majority members of the assembly and the affairs of Punjab were not being conducted in accordance with the constitution. The PML-N leader Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that the no-confidence motion has been signed by 126 members.

He said that after the submission of no-trust motion, the Chief Minister will not be able to dissolve the Punjab assembly. Under the constitution, after the submission of no-confidence motion, the speaker is bound to convene the assembly in 14 days. The opposition parties have also filed a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan which has been included in today’s agenda of the national Assembly session.
Number game
The ruling party PTI has 183 members and it has the support of PML-Q which has 10 seats. Bazdar has also the support of four independent members and one member of Pakistan Rah-e-Haq Party. The main opposition party PML-N has 172 members in Punjab assembly while the PPP has seven members.
Addressing a press conference outside the Punjab Assembly, PML-N MPA Rana Mashhood and PPP MPA Hassan Murtaza criticized the performance of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar and said that the days of his rule are numbered. He said that the no-confidence motion was signed by 126 members of the Punjab Assembly and claimed that they have the support of over 200 members.
