Asad Omar said that it is a secret of national importance therefore; the government will not make it public but ready to present it to the supreme court of Pakistan. The minister said, “I am not allowed to unveil the wordings of the letter but the main focus of the letter was the no-confidence motion against the prime minister. He said that the letter was important as it also discussed the no-confidence motion.
Asad Umar said that even more importantly, it bluntly states that if the no-confidence motion failed and Imran Khan remains the Prime Minister, it will have “dangerous consequences.” He said that letter was received on March 7, a day before the no-confidence motion submission in national assembly secretariat.
Umar said that due to legal impediments, the “threat letter” has been shared only with the top military leadership and some members of the cabinet. The minister alleged that there is no doubt that Nawaz Sharif is involved in the matter however, only the prime minister would share further information on the matter. He said that in view of the current circumstances, it is important for the Prime Minister to inform the people.
Umar said that most of the national assembly members do not have information about the elements behind the no-trust move. “Members of National Assembly are very patriotic and they should decide to support or oppose the no-confidence motion after looking at the whole situation,” the minister said.
