The National Security Committee on Friday after examining the alleged threat letter and listening to Dr. Asad Majeed, Pakistan’s envoy in Washington at the time, has concluded that no conspiracy was hatched to oust ex-premier Imran Khan.
So far, this is the biggest blow to the ousted PM’s narrative that an international conspiracy was hatched to depose him through a vote of no-confidence.
The huddle was attended by services chiefs and ministers of PM Shehbaz’s cabinet.
“The NSC, after examining the contents of the communication, reaffirmed the decision of the last NSC meeting”, a statement issued following the meeting read.
It further said that “Therefore, the NSC, after reviewing the contents of the communication, the assessment received, and the conclusions presented by the security agencies, concludes that there has been no foreign conspiracy.”
