Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said that his claims on ‘foreign conspiracy’ have been substantiated by Friday’s National Security Meeting declaration.
“I was right all along,” the deposed PM reiterated.
He was addressing a press conference, a day after the country’s top leadership refuted his allegations of a US-backed conspiracy against his now-defunct government.
He said the NSC meeting endorsed that the cable was genuine and that Pakistan’s ex-ambassador to the US held a meeting with American official Donald Lu.
He claimed that the US official told the Pakistan envoy that Pakistan would be pardoned if the no-confidence motion against him resulted in success.
He said “I will go a step forward and say that he was arrogant […] the Joe Biden administration official told our ambassador that Imran Khan will have to be removed through a no-confidence motion,” the PTI chairman said, adding that the meeting took place before the no-trust motion was filed.
“But let me tell you, our economic situation was very good […] our exports, remittances, tax collection, agricultural output, and the price of agricultural products were all historic,” he said.
