When Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced his plans for buying Twitter, many feared the accumulation of too much power in one person’s hands, or to be more precise, in a billionaire’s hands.
As of now, it seems like the fears stemmed from solid concerns as Elon Musk engaged in a Twitter spat with Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after she criticized billionaires and delivered an indirect rebuttal to Musk’s tweet where he said the Democratic Party “has been hijacked by extremists.”
AOC is a young progressive leader with 12.9 million followers on Twitter alone.
AOC blamed hate crimes on “some billionaire with an ego problem” who “unilaterally controls a massive communication platform.”
The debate is feared to intensify in the coming days as Musk has already pinned his targets and has made his intentions clear.
