ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Imran Khan has increased the budget of tribal districts in the last three years, which has been reduced as soon as this government came to power.
Addressing a press conference at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House Islamabad, KP Minister for Health and Finance Taimur Saleem Jhagra and Minister for Higher Education Kamran Khan Bangash said that the provincial government is proud that this time the budget reforms have been completed. The country paid tribute to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, the provincial government presented an exemplary budget.
He said said that he was deeply saddened that the first thing the federal government did after coming to power was to oppress the tribal people by reducing the development budget and the current budget of the tribal districts while Imran Khan increased the budget of tribal districts in the last three years. Then another injustice was done that the people of tribal districts removed health card panels. The third atrocity that followed was that we have not yet received money from the tribal districts through the NFC.
The ministers said: “This is the first government to cut the development budget for the tribal districts. Our government has tried to take over most of the tribal districts with historic success,’ they said adding ,.
“Even before the budget, we contacted Muftah Ismail and asked him to co-operate with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government regarding the tribal districts as well as other development projects of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government,” they added.
There should be no abuse of the people as well as the people of the tribal districts.
On this occasion, they further said that we are trying to find a way forward together with the federation. On June 29, we also wrote a letter to Muftah Ismail containing 6 points. The federal government only wants to fill its own pockets.
On the occasion, Minister for Higher Education Kamran Bangash said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would suffer the most from the petroleum levy. On the occasion, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister also said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would propose to make the 750 ad hoc doctors permanent in the next provincial cabinet.
