Chumerkhan village in Chitral grabs the attention of the people for its irresistible and tempting production of pomegranates. The majority of the people earn from the production of this heavenly descent in the village. The production of pomegranates is at its peak in September and October. One may witness the pomegranate trees in their absolute glory during these months.
In cold regions, the pomegranates are dangled together in bunches from the ceilings in enclosed rooms. This is called their cold storage. The cold storage ensures the preservation of the fruit so that it can be utilized once out of season.
