The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the visit of Ireland Women’s Cricket Team to Pakistan for the ICC Women’s Championship 22-25 fixtures and T20 International in November.
The team will be travelling to Pakistan for the very first time. The arrival is scheduled for October 29th in Lahore. A four-day training session is to be conducted before the first ODI on November 4th.
Ireland will be the 4th international cricket team to visit Pakistan in the year 2022. The men’s side cricket teams from Australia, West Indies and England travelled to Pakistan earlier this year.
A press release issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board stated that all the six matches would be played in Gaddafi stadium, Lahore. The press release further declared that the upcoming series would be a second successive series between Ireland and Pakistan in the ICC Women’s Championship.
The head of Pakistan Women’s team, Tania Mallick, said that they had great experience of hosting Sri Lanka and they are now excited about hosting Ireland in Pakistan.
The visit of the International women’s cricket team to Pakistan predicts a bright future and the beginning of a new era in women’s cricket.
According to Bismah Maroof, captain of Pakistan women’s cricket team, playing with international teams will provide the female players with an opportunity to upgrade their skills according to the international demand.
PCB also announced the visit of the England men’s side to Pakistan in late November for the test matches. Moreover, the arrival of the New Zealand men’s side is due in December for two test matches and three ODIs.
