Pakistan: A technical fault has been reported in Pakistan’s southern transmission system, ceasing the electricity supply. Several power plants tripped.
The electricity in the southern part of the country has been interrupted, including Karachi. As a result of the breakdown, a large part of the power plants in the southern region are out of order, including the coal plants, Thar coal plants, and nuclear plants in Karachi.
The Ministry of Energy is investigating the cause of the technical fault. 4700MW out of 8,000MW have been restored. Khurram Dastagir Khan, Federal Minister for Power, announced that the power system will be completely restored as soon as possible.
The minister told the media that the reconnection team, the repair team, and the inquiry team were set to work in the field. Furthermore, the biggest success that the minister declares is cutting off north from south. The timely action taken has saved the north region from breakdown.
