The legend of Maula Jatt, after a decade-long struggle and several delays, is set to be released in cinemas today.
The long-awaited film has seen many ups and downs. It has overcome the hindrances that came its way and is about to touch the sky it once aimed for.
The production of the big-budget reboot of Yunus Malik’s 1979 classic Maula Jatt began in September 2017. It is a story of the rivalry between Noori Natt and Maula Jatt. The movie stars Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mahira Khan, Humaima Malick, and Gohar Rashid as the main characters.
Bilal Lashari, at this very indelible yet emotional moment, wrote a letter to his dear film where he bid farewell to it and embarked on a voyage to another realm.
“But every storyteller, every dreamer has to part with the story told, the dream realized, so my friend, today I give you to the audience of the world.”
The story of a film is way more than what we see on the screen. It takes thousands of untold tales, years-long hard work, commitment, and resilience to get everything right. The director expresses his gratitude for the difficult yet wonderful journey of the Legend of Maula Jatt. The vision that he dreamt of ten years ago is turning into reality today.
“An impossible dream, that is who you were a decade ago. Today you are for real, no more a figment of my imagination or a project of a dreamer.”
