Malakand: The Education Centre for people with special needs in Mingora was revealed to be overlooked and run by class 4 employees. The parents of the children filed a complaint to the authorities about the negligence.
The parents of differently-abled children held a press conference regarding the issue. It was revealed that there was only one teacher for about 300 special children in the institution. Moreover, the institution has no buildings and poorly maintained buses.
Apart from a building and all the basic facilities, the parents have demanded 18 expert teachers to say the least. The parents further demanded Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan, to take special interest in restoring the institution.
The parents also announced that if the government fails to provide ample facilities for these children, they will be forced to protest on the streets to acquire the rights of their children.
