The British monarch, King Charles III, and his wife Camilla were attacked with eggs by a 23-year-old man upon their arrival in the city of York.
The British man who hurled eggs at King Charles III of Great Britain was apprehended by the police in the northern city of York.
The incident took place when the King and his Queen entered the city of York through Muckle Gate Bar, an ancient traditional passage where the members of the royal family are greeted upon their arrival to the city.
In the video footage, several eggs can be seen falling to the ground, although the royal couple was not hit by them. Local dignitaries continued to welcome them and the royal guests proceeded to meet their well-wishers who gathered there.
Meanwhile, several policemen were seen controlling a person in the crowd. The man, according to The British news agency, protested and chanted, “This country was built on the blood of slaves” during his arrest.
The people in the crowd tried to confront his voice by chanting”shame on you” and “God saves the King”.
