A mass shooting took three lives and left two injured at the University of Virginia USA. The three members of the University football team were killed in the attack.
According to the security officials, the culprit of the attack has been arrested. The accused has been identified as Christopher Darnell Jones.
The shooting started on a bus that was returning students from an off-campus trip. All classes at the university were cancelled on Monday. The Charlottesville Campis was completely deserted.
According to a letter by Jim Ryan, the UVA president, the assassination took place at 10:30 pm on the bus on Sunday. The letter further wrote that the message in it should never be sent to anyone.
The university’s emergency management issued an alert to warn students on campus of the presence of an armed man. After reports that shots had been fired north of campus, the administration in a message directed students to stay inside the building.
