A recent terrorist activity went downhill on the Pak-Afghan border on Wednesday. An attempt to smuggle weapons from Afghanistan to Pakistan at the Torkham border, fortunately, missed the mark. Customs officials recovered weapons from a truck entering Pakistan from Afghanistan.
According to the reports, 16 M4 guns were recovered in the operation. Moreover, a large number of cartridges were recovered in the operation too. The driver of the operation has been arrested and further investigations are underway. According to security officials, the investigation of vehicles coming from Afghanistan has been made more stringent on the border.
Pakistan has been a victim of terrorism ever since the 9/11 attack. Afghanistan, being the primary source of militancy, found its neighboring country an easy target to terrorize the world, as Afghanistan has on and off been the hub of the militants.
The lack of proper security on the borders, the import-export of goods between the neighboring countries, and the migrants from Afghanistan have widely contributed to the terrorist attacks that evolved into a ritual in the recent past. Although much has changed in the years, attempts to violate the laws, security, and peace are still being put together.
