The spokesperson of the US State Department, Ned Price, stated that Pakistan has always been an important ally to the US in the war against terrorism. The United States, therefore, plans to cooperate with Pakistan to further improve its defense sector.
Price announced that Pakistan’s defense capacity will be increased to deal with terrorism. All measures will be taken to prevent the mutual interests of both countries from being affected, he added.
Ned Price, Spokesperson of the US State Department, stated in a press briefing that terrorists can use the land of Afghanistan to attack and promote terrorism in Pakistan again. He further stated that the banned TTP and other terrorists are preparing themselves for future attacks. It is therefore feared that Afghanistan will become a haven for global terrorists again.
Ned Price further stated that the Taliban have been unable to keep and fulfill promises. We will not let TTP take over Afghanistan again, he added. Recalling the past during his press briefing in Washington, Ned Price said that the US has the capabilities to fight terrorism in the region, which was demonstrated in the killing of al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.
Moreover, the spokesman denied the false rumors regarding regime change. Clearing up their position, the American spokesperson said that the US does not have any favorites or preferences. Their sole interest is protecting the people of the country rather than intervening in the country’s politics.
