Tanzania’s president sets an example for the leaders of the world not to fiddle around and take decisions that will help the people in the long run. Samia Saluho Hassan, the President of the African country of Tanzania, has canceled the independence day celebrations on Friday, December 9. Although Tanzania is known for celebrating the day with grand galore in the past, the budget this time will be used to build hostels and schools for children in the country.
Tanzania – The portrayal of true freedom . . .
Although Tanzania is known for celebrating the day with grand galore in the past, the budget this time will be used to build hostels and schools for children in the country.
According to the reports, a budget of 445000 dollars was set for the celebrations of the 61st independence day of Tanzania. The money will be used to build 8 primary schools in the country. Tanzania’s Minister of State declared that the budget for the celebrations had been distributed to the administration as per the President’s order.
Moreover, this is not the first time that Tanzania has canceled the celebrations for the good of the people. Previously, in the year 2015, President John Magofuli canceled Independence Day celebrations and ordered the funds to be spent on the construction of the roads in the commercial capital Dar es Salaam.
The second time that the budget for independence day celebrations was put to a greater cause was witnessed in the year 2020. The president of Tanzania, Magofuli, ordered that the budget would be used for medical facilities and healthcare, rather than using it for celebrations.
Time and time again, the leadership of Tanzania has defined the true meaning of freedom. It has set examples for the people of how to honor it. After all, celebrating independence is meaningless if the people of the nation are tied in the chains of destitution and deprivation.
