At the request of the Ministry of Health, the federal government of Pakistan has approved SRO on heated tobacco products. Non-governmental organizations working in the health sector and doctors have appreciated the legalisation of HTPs in Pakistan.
Heated tobacco products are introduced by PurAzam Pakistan as an alternative to cigarettes in the wider public health interest of the people. Adib Aizaz, co-founder of PurAzam Pakistan stated that the governments of several developed countries, including UK, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Japan, New Zealand have conducted research on the non-flammable low-risk alternatives to cigarettes such as heated tobacco products, vapes, snuff and several others. He claims that HTPs are scientifically proven to be 95% less harmful than cigarettes.
For instance, Japan was once notorious for its high number of smokers, but now the Japanese market has seen a decline in the demand and sales of cigarettes ever since heated tobacco products were introduced. The United Kingdom government is also in the process of regulating e-cigarettes that are also smokeless.
