Najam Sethi and Shakil Sheikh to take the place of Ramiz Raja and Asad Ali Khan as the Governing Board Members of the Pakistan Cricket Board. The move from the PCB comes a day after Pakistan suffered a 3-0 loss in a Test series against England.
The Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) moved the summary to remove Ramiz Raja as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman and appoint Najam Sethi as the new PCB chairman on Tuesday. Moreover, the Governing Board Member, Asad Ali Khan, was suggested to be superseded by Shakil Sheikh. The summary has been approved by the PM on Wednesday.
Ramiz Raja was appointed as PCB chairman by the former prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan on September 13, 2021. He is a Pakistani cricket administrator, commentator, and former cricketer who served as the 35th Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board between September 2021 and December 2022.
Najam Sethi first served as chairman of PCB in 2013 but had to leave the position for he had to fight a legal battle with Chaudhry Muhammad Zaka Ashraf. Later in August 2017, Sethi was re-appointed as chairman of the board. He stepped down after Imran Khan took charge as Prime Minister in 2018.
