A young girl was kidnapped and raped for 2 continuous days in Faqirabad, Peshawar. The eighth grader was abducted for refusing intimacy.
With the connivance of her friend, the girl was abducted, made unconscious, and raped. The father of the girl, filed a report after his 14-year-old daughter went missing.
The victim reached home two days later and stated that her friend, with the help of an unknown boy, put a handkerchief over her mouth, made her unconscious, and shifted her to an unidentified place. She told the police that the boy made her the target of his lust and left her on her own after assaulting her for two days. The police have started their investigation into the matter.
According to a recent survey, a woman is raped in Pakistan every two hours. This highlights the unsafe conditions for women in the country. The survey was established on the data collected from the Punjab province’s home department and Human Rights.
It was also found that while the rape cases of women spiked, the conviction rate remained an abysmal 0.2 percent. These registered cases could be just the tip of the iceberg. The societal norms and fear of retributive brutality prevent women from reporting incidents to the authorities.
