The rate of cybercrime has drastically increased with online gaming and social media becoming widely accessible to minors. Millions of rupees are earned through homosexuality, child pornography, and live video streaming. According to the FIA cyber crime wing, indecent video clips of children are made after befriending them while playing PUBG.
Moreover, students of various private colleges and universities in Lahore, Gujarat, and Multan are recruited into gay groups through private parties, group studies, and modeling. They are also forced to watch films about promiscuity and homosexuality.
A considerable number of homosexuals on the social media sites involved in such acts, mostly belong to different cities in Punjab. For instance, 20 people from Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, and Rawalpindi were arrested during a grand operation against persons involved in such illegal and immoral practices.
Naveed Asim, Anwar Qaiser, Asad Munir, Imran Tanveer Iftikhar, Waheed Tauqeer, Nadeem Sharaft Qasim, and a few others are among the arrested accused. Indecent videos and photos of children, women, middle-aged people, sexual drugs, and other equipment have been recovered from the possession of the arrested persons.
Many poor families refrain from cooperating with the FIA in the investigation due to the fear of defamation and threats from these mafias. Many of the illegal sites have been blocked by the PTA. The FIA is digging deep further into the matter to reach the culprits.
