During the international conference held in Geneva for the Pakistani flood victims, international organizations and countries announced giving 10 billion 570 million dollars in aid to Pakistan, which includes 4.2 billion dollars from the Islamic Development Bank and 2 billion dollars from the World Bank.
The appeal of the United Nations to help the flood victims of Pakistan and the international conference hosted by Pakistan in the city of Geneva, Switzerland, which has several sessions, is going on. The conference is being held under the title “Pakistan that can cope with climate change”.
The conference began with a session on providing resources to Pakistan for flood recovery. A special video on flood disasters, damage, relief, and rehabilitation in Pakistan was also shown at the conference.
The Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, in his address to the conference, said that a large part of Pakistan was affected and severely damaged by the recent floods. He further stated that although Pakistanis have the passion to strive even in difficult situations, large-scale measures are needed to restore infrastructure. 16.3 billion dollars of aid will be required in 3 years.
