In a primary school in the Indian state of West Bengal, a snake was found in the lunch that is provided by the government. The condition of 30 children worsened after catching the horrendous sight.
According to Indian media, primary school children were given dal and rice for lunch. A small snake was found in the dal pot when the server was serving it to the children. Upon seeing the snake in the food that they eat daily, the children got scared. The condition of 30 children worsened due to which they were taken to the hospital. Out of 30, 10 were admitted to the hospital.
Most of the children vomited and had to have their stomachs cleaned. The condition of the children is said to be out of danger. The parents have demanded action against the school headmaster.
It should be noted that in most government schools in India, food is provided by the government. The motive behind it is to encourage poor families to send their children to school rather than work and to promote education in the country. However, the lack of hygiene and proper care seems to lead the situation in a direction that is opposite to what is intended.
